Encouragement (Greek: paraklesis) is defined as the spiritual ability to come alongside a person who may be hurting spiritually or emotionally and offer him/her a word of comfort concerning the past and a word of encouragement, admonition (warning) or challenge so he/she will be able to walk in the steps of the Spirit in the future.
